CRYSTAL
We got to the hospital and went into the physiotherapy building. I was ushered into one the cubicles enclosed with curtains. Oba stayed back at the waiting room.
The exercise was painful but I just had to allow the therapist do their job.
After the therapy session. The physiotherapist asked if I came with someone.
“Yes, why do you ask?”
“Your dress is badly stain. I can see you are on your period” She informed.
“Oh my God!” I quickly checked and I was truly in a mess. I thought the sanitary pad could handle it but I was wrong.
I was really embarrassed, thank God the physiotherapist is a female.
“Though I felt the heavy flow during the exercise but I didn’t know It’s so much that it got me stained already” I explained to the physiotherapist.
“It happens like that sometimes, the flow get heavy due to rigorous exercise. Next time when you are on your period, you’ll have to come with extra clothes and sanitary pad.
“But you should have told me all this earlier”
“I’m sorry, I thought you knew. What’s the name of the person you came with, so I could call the person”
“Doctor he’s not a relative, he’s a friend. I’m embarrassed already, don’t make it worse by calling him”
“Like you said he’s a friend. What are friends for. I can’t help you, you know the number of patients I have to attend to. So try not to be embarrassed it’s nothing’
“Ok… I said and she went ahead to call Oba who joined me inside the cubicle. Immediately he entered, he drew the curtain back.
He came in with a towel. Luckily for me the physiotherapist had already told him what happened. So I need not explain myself.
He handed the towel to me.
“We need to get you a change of clothes but the market close to this place I’ve not opened yet, they’re having environmental or something. Is there any extra clothes inside the car?” He asked
“No, just pant and sanitary pads” Thank God I’m use to carrying things like that around when I’m on.

“Ok let me bring them”
“It’s of no use what clothes will I wear?”
‘I think I have an idea. I’m coming” he said and left.
He came back with my underwear and sanitary pad.
“I just spoke to one of the cleaners, he offered to help” He informed and handed me a towel.
“How?”
“Just come with me” He said
There’s a bathroom close to the cubicle. He took me there and told me to take my bath.
“Oba, even if I bath what will I wear, I can’t wear a badly stained cloth”
“Just take your bath, leave the clothes in there. I know you can’t wash because of your hand. I’ll wash it”
“How is that possible? I mean why will you wash my blood stained clothes”
“Do we have any other choice?”
“My goodness! Ok, How do you intend washing it now?”
“I have detergent, the cleaner gave me some. And also there’s a hot air blower where the cleaners dry the towels they use for patients.
“Really, how do you know all this?”
“I asked around. In 10mins top your clothes will be dry”
I just shaked my head. Oba is something else, he can think for Africa.
I took my bath and tidied myself. I tied the tower and came out. Oba led me back to the cubicle.
“Oba, are you sure you can wash a blood stained clothes and underwear?”
“Crystal!”
“Ok, you don’t have to wash the pant, I’ll discard it”
He gave me a ‘let me be look’ He left the cubicle and came back some minutes later, with dried clothes.
“So fast! Thank you”
“You are welcome” he said and left so I could wear my clothes.
I stepped out of the cubicle when I was through. He collected the towel from me and my hand bag.
I saw him returned the towel to the cleaner and gave him some cash. I saw the guy bowing in appreciation. I guessed that was the guy who gave him detergent and told him about the hot air blower.
I couldn’t believe guys like Oba still exists. He cared less about things some guys see has big deal.
We entered the car and I thank him all over again.
“Crystal, why are you avoiding my eyes. You don’t have to be embarrassed. I noticed our gaze never met for once since I came into the cubicle” He said.
“Oba I’m embarrassed that’s the truth, I pray I get over the drama”
“It’s ok, we are friends or use to be friends. Forget that we are opposite s€x”
“What’s the meaning of use to be friends” I said looking straight into his eyes without thinking.
“Oh! You just looked me in the eyes”
“Yes and you just said we used to be friends”
“Is that not true”
I slapped his thigh and we both laughed heartily.
After that incident Oba and I became inseparable. That incident bonded us and we never brought up the issues we had on ground again. We always spent quality time together after work.

“Jesus! I screamed out of my dream.
My daughter rushed into my room when she heard my voice.
I was on my knees, praying already when she came in. She joined me in saying Amen to my prayers.
“Mummy, how bad is the dream. You are sweating profusely” she said after we finished praying.
“Crystal, I saw the two of us in a pool of blood”
“Jesus Christ! We reject that dream” she said.
Then my phone rang. I almost jumped out of fear when I heard the ring tone. It’s just 2am. I picked it from under my pillow and check the caller ID.
“Crystal! It’s your father!”
“By this time! mummy please pick up the call”
I swiped the touch screen to connect. “Hello”
“Amara! Are you both okay. I had a bad dream” He asked with a fearful tone.
“We are fine. I had a bad dream too”
“I suggest we fast and pray about it”
“I agree. Can we start tomorrow?”
“Yes, we can”
“No evil will before us in Jesus name.
“Amen”
“Crystal is here, she rushed to my room when she heard me screamed”
“Let me talk to Crystal” he said and I handed the phone over to Crystal”
After the call we went back to sleep.

EZINNE
I was busy preparing to host the members of the circle. A day was already fixed, my new circle of friends are to pay me an official visit for the first time. Though three of them already knew my place.
There was a day I ran into one of our guys in Victoria Island at the time when my car was at the mechanic. He saw me and offered to give me a ride home. He brought me home and that was how we became good friends.
Ever since the day he gave me a ride, we’ve been on the calls and chatting level aside the WhatsApp group chat. He also invited me over to his house once.
I started having feelings for him along the line. Very funny right! No wonder Crystal said she knows who I like, but then I haven’t even started having this feeling. “Crystal and her gut” I shrugged.
The D-Day came, all the ladies assembled at my place to help out with the cooking. We were all happy for Crystal as her hand was now very much okay. She even drove herself down to my place.
Since the guys still insist that they want food made with our own hands and not caterers, we had no other choice than to fix it . I kind of reason with them though because the rules will help the ladies to be better in managing their home especially those who came from home where they hardly enter the kitchen example Hauwa.
We started prepations and as usual gist was rolling in at the same time while everyone was busy with one thing or the other in the kitchen.
Crystal told us that Zite’s fiance is around.
“She arrived not quite long before she came to my place. I told her to rest as she wanted to come with me to help out. I told her we don’t really have much to do” She informed.
“At last, I’ll meet her” I said.
“Sure, you will meet our wife today” Crystal said with a smile.
“Hauwa! I called.

“Yes dear” she replied. “Crystal and I visited Dady Afam’s house. That interior decorator was beautiful. I was wowed. Well done, I give to you”
“Thank you…. I’m glad you love it” Hauwa said feeling proud of herself
“See ojoro, so all of you already knows the place except me. It’s unfair o” Hauwa tackled.
“Who are you blaming for that, I called you but you said you’re helping your sweetheart out with something” Crystal countered.
“Ok…ok…fine” Enitan admitted.
Hauwa and Enitan started teasing Crystal about her relationship with Soma.
“Can you guys just deal with. I said it’s over between Soma and I. Abeg free the guy too and allow him move on because I’m very sure you people are on his neck as well” Crystal snapped at them while they were still on teasing her.
The ladies faces shows disappointment. I felt bad too with the way things are, considering what those two have been through.
“Guys!!! Soma and I are cool but it can’t happen” Crystal said calmly to ease the mood.
“If not Soma, then who? Hauwa asked with concern.
“Babe, you need to start dating. Seriously” Enitan added.
“I actually have someone who really likes me but……
“But what again…? Enny cut in.
“It’s complicated”
“Now this is what I don’t like which one is ‘it’s complicated’ again” Enny asked curiously.
“Can we stop talking about me and talk about someone else, Ezinne to be precised” She winked at me.
“Crystal, don’t start!” I pointed at her playfully.
“I will start and you can shut my mouth. So how far with you and this guy you like so much” She said and I wonder if Crystal is stalking my heart or something.
“Wait o, did she tell you about any guy? Hauwa asked.
“She doesn’t have to but I have eyes plus I trust my gut” Crystal replied her.

Then Enitan faced me closely. “Madam eagle eyes said there’s a guy. So….tell us about him”
“Don’t mind Crystal, there’s no guy. Though I have admirers at work but I don’t feel them” I defended.
“That’s because she has eyes for someone else” Crystal countered me.
“Hauwa, Enny, please ignore her” I said.
“Ok oooo” They both chorused.
“Please excuse me I need to get something in the room” I said and left the kitchen.

ENITAN
I remembered that the last time I hangout with the girls, Crystal mentioned that Ezinne likes someone. My question is who is the guy? And why did Crystal refused to spill the beans. I decided to engage Hauwa in my thought.
“Hauwa! Since Crystal refused to let us know who the guy is. Then I’ll find out myself. I’ll be on the look out. Eagle eyes activated!”.
“Same here, Infact my detective mode is activated” Hauwa concurred with me and we all laughed.
Ezinne walked into the kitchen and we all continued with our cooking. Thanks to the gisting before we knew it we were done with the preparations.
We showered and change into another clothes. The guys started falling in one after the other. Luckily Ezinne’s compound is big, it accommodated all their cars. I’m sure her neighbours will be wondering if she’s having a birthday party.
The show began as Zite lead the opening prayer, he also took the time to pray and bless our host. Before then we had introduced Ezinne and Bisi as they we’re meeting for the first time.
After the prayer. Crystal led us into worship that was glorious. The rich voices of the guys blended with ours as we sang in part. Sometimes I wondered why we didn’t sing as group for a living. We would have made a good singing group.
After that we had some discussions but I was surprised Crystal and Soma’s case didn’t come up and I think I’m not in position to raise the issue since she made herself clear earlier. We also talked about the upcoming events which includes Crystal Daddy’s house warming party which we were all invited.
Then the food and drinks was shared.
One thing is sure, I know the guy Crystal is talking about is in the circle that’s why Crystal refused to mention the person. Then I turned on my eagle eyes. I started looking for eye contacts. Suddenly I caught Soma and Ezinne making eye contact with each other. Not once, not twice.
“It’s a lie” I said to myself and gave myself a little knock on the head. “Enitan Stop insinuating what is not” I cautioned myself.
Then I heard a voice behind me. “Detective mode activated. Did you see what I’m seeing” That was Hauwa whispering.

“Yes, but….
“Are we actually right?” She asked.
But before I could answer the sound system came up and everyone is already picking a dance partner. My fiance is already coming towards me.
“We shall talk later” I said and Dume took my hands as she turned to leave my side.
We danced and I watched the way the guys took turn in dancing with Ezinne. I was dancing with Zite now. But when it got to the turn of Soma to dance with her, I saw sparkles in their eyes. I need no other hint, the both of them have falling for each other.
I withdrew from dancing with Onochie who was presently dancing with me at that time. I was not even concentrating.
“Did you see what I’m seeing” Hauwa whispered. She was standing behind me again. I’m sure she left her dance partner too out of curiosity.
“Did you see what I’m seeing” she repeated as if I didn’t hear her the first time.
“Yes and I’m speechless” I replied her.
After the show was over. All the guys left except Soma and Onochie who helped us with some arranging and cleaning. Bisi wanted to stay back to help but we didn’t allow her stay back. She looked like someone who needed plenty of rest, so we allow her leave with Zite.
Onochie left and Soma stayed back. Myself and the girls are staying over to pass the night at Ezinne’s as that was how we ladies do with each other. We can decide to pass the night at any one’s house.
Later when Soma was done helping out. He announced his leave. We took turns hugging him before he stepped out.
Ezinne walked him to the car and we quickly rushed to the window. I quietly open the window bland and peeped. Luckily Soma’s car was parked where it could be viewed from the window side.
I called Hauwa and Crystal to leave whatever they’re doing in the kitchen and join me. But they didn’t come out.
“Hauwa! Crystal!” I called out again.

“What?” They chorused.
“Just come” I gestured with my hands as they showed up in the sitting room.
They joined me and we all looked outside the window.
“Now! Who are we spying on? Crystal asked.
“Soma and Ezinne” Hauwa and I chorused. It’s like Hauwa as spotted them already and I wonder if Crystal needs glasses to be able to spot the images not too far from her eye sight.
“How do you guys find out?” Crystal asked when she sighted them.
“We have eyes too, miss eagle eyes” Hauwa replied with her gaze still fixed outside the window.
They were still outside talking. Then Soma held her hands. I was like ‘ghen ghen’ He released her hands and hugged her. Since we only have the visuals and not the audio we didn’t know what they discussed and what led to the hug.
“Let’s get back to the kitchen. Show is over” Crystal said.
“Abi moti lo ni” (I’m going nowhere) I said as the two of them understand yoruba.
Crystal just want us to leave because she knew what is coming up next and she didn’t want us to see it. We the way things her, I can bet with my money that the show is not over.
“Enitan!” She called out.
“Crystal leave me be. The show has just begun and I’m going no where” I said adamantly.
“Hauwa, let’s go” She said.
“Ehn! I’m after you” Hauwa who has been quiet just to concentrate on the scene before us spoke.
Few minutes later, it happened.
“Did you see what I’m seeing?” Hauwa’s eyes widened.
“They just k!ssed!” I stated. I looked at my side and Crystal wasn’t there.
“Did Crystal missed this?” I asked Hauwa.

“She left when I didn’t follow her”
I hurriedly pulled the bland and rushed into the kitchen.
“You left because you know what was about to happen next and you can’t stand it” I said, face to face with Crystal.
“I left because what you just saw is private. You shouldn’t have seen that but curiosity will now allow you. I’m serious when I said I’m over him. But what’s the point watching them k!ssed, it’s not my business and that is why I left.
“You see Enitan was right. How did you know they k!ssed?” Hauwa asked hands akimbo.
“It’s obvious, I know those love birds we seal whatever they’re out there discussing with a k!ss”
“Crystal, we all know this can’t happen” I said.
“What is it that can’t happen?” She asked curiously.
“We don’t date each other’s exes. Remember!”
Then we heard the front door click open.
“Mouth sealed babes” Crystal said and we all pretended as if nothing happened as Ezinne stepped in.
