In an unexpected development, a TikTok user going by the handle @emma_oniru, who is serving as a corp member in one of the Northern states, released a video illustrating the language barrier he had on his first day at his primary assignment.
The encounter between Emma and the pupils he met at the principal’s office was caught on camera.
Emma realized the students did not speak or understand English as soon as she approached them and tried to talk in it.
The pupils were unable to respond verbally when the teacher inquired where the principal was since they could only point to the principal’s table.
One student, mustering up the courage, managed to convey the message, “No English!” This left the corps member shocked and bewildered by the language barrier he encountered.
Captioning the post, Emma expressed surprise and frustration, stating: “My first day at work. See my PPA students,” highlighting the students’ inability to understand English.
