Osinachi Nwachukwu’s mother and sister have commented on the death of the gospel singer which happened on Friday, April 2. BBC Pidgin reported that the bereaved family in an interview shared their pains and talked about the bitter experience they had with Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu.

Madam Madu, the late singer’s mother, said she was pained by the kind of son-in-law Nwachukwu is. She said she could not express what she experienced in the hands of her late daughter’s husband. “Ever since he married her, my daughter had no peace, I too had no peace,” the mother was quoted as saying.

Madam Madu said she didn’t see her daughter for eight years after getting married to Mr Nwachukwu. She added that when she gave birth, the husband did’t inform her. The bereaved mother said Osinachi for some time did not tell her and the family what she was going through in the marriage. She said it was outsiders who revealed what her daughter was facing.

Osinachi finally called her family for help Madam Madu said one day, she received a phone call from her daughter, after having three kids, where she opened up on how the husband was treating her. She said Osinachi told her father that Mr Nwachukwu told her that “if she did not go home alive, she would go in death.”

After the threatening statement, Osinachi’s eldest sister, Favour Mmadu, went to Abuja to pick her and children and took them to Enugu, the mother said. According to her, Osinachi spent one year and three months in her father’s house in Enugu before Nwachukwu came to beg for her to return home.

What God has joined together…
Madam Madu said she did not want make her daughter to go back to the marriage, adding that she wanted her to file for divorce and find another husband. She, however, said Osinachi told her that, “what God has joined together, let no man put asunder”. The mother said her late daughter told her she would go back to the marriage. She added that the abuse continued again as she returned.

Osinachi’s sister, Favour, also spoke on the development, saying she advised the late gospel against staying in the marriage. READ COMPLETE INTERVIEW BELOW

(OSINACHI’S MOTHER SPEAKS); After Osinachi married I didn’t see her again until after 8years, when she gave birth her husband didn’t tell me that she had given birth its from other people I heard it. It was outsiders that were telling me what Osinachi was going through Osinachi never told me anything.

There was a fellow that Osinachi lived together with in thesame compound they grew up together that called us one day and told us that if we know what we can do to help Osinachi we better do it fast.

One day I received call from my daughter by that time Osinachi just gave birth to her 3rd child she said Osinachi is dying of suffering that nobody takes care of her and what Peter Nwachukwu was doing to her was to much.

The first time I went to osinachis house was when I was very very sick then Osinachi met mommy Becky Enenche and told her that what important to her is her mothers health and taking care of her mother and her husband Peter Nwachukwu doesn’t want to ever see her mother.

Mommy Becky Enenche begged Peter Nwachukwu and he agreed I only stayed there for one month before Peter chased me away with the kind of marriage Osinachi had it even better she never married in her life at all.

Peter Nwachukwu once called Osinachi’s dad to tell him that if Osinachi didn’t return home alive she will return home dead. This talk made her elder sister Favor Madu travel to Abuja carry Osinachi and her child back to her fathers house in Enugu

FAVOUR MADU ( OSINACHI ELDER SISTER SPEAKS); With my money I went to Abuja to carry Osinachi back home I payed her transport, she spent one year and three months in our fathers house before Peter Nwachukwu came to beg to carry her back home.

Our mother never wanted Osinachi to go back she wanted her to divorce him and find another husband. Osinachi opened her mouth and told us that Mama what God has joined together let no man put asunder that she will go back instead of her remarrying. That she has married done wedding, and there will be no separation.

When Osinachi returned to her marriage the husband began to abuse her again I called Osinachi and told her you see it is not as if you and Peter will quarrel o but stay on your own let Peter stay on his own let’s do this and see if he will get some sense, but Osinachi did not listen.

Osinachi gave birth to four children in marriage her mother never went to visit her in Abuja she did not even do Omugo our mother doesn’t even know where they live in abuja Osinachis husband doesnt ever want to see her mother

AMARACHI ( Osinachi’s twin sister); I wanted to sing on stage with Osinachi in a convention my sister Osinachi told me that we will sing together we have even sewn the cloth that we will use, but we never wore that clothes Peter refused, when the day approached I entered the convention hall and sat down waiting for

Osinachi the next thing a brother came to tell me that can I sing alone ? I said yes, all of a sudden Peter Nwachukwu drove to the church gate dragged Osinachi spat and dragged her into the car and went and locked her at home.

One time when we went for a church program in Lagos Peter ordered the keyboardist not to allow me and Osinachi near each other, he didn’t want us to stand together if we wanted to come close the keyboardist will say mama shift I don’t want trouble. Everybody avoids peter

Peter saw Osinachi for the first time in one glorious singers programme in abuja that we went together Peter chased and chased Osinachi but she refused when he saw us he collected my number and was calling and calling me to beg my sister to agree to marry him.

But I didn’t like him I kept telling Osinachi I don’t understand this man the way I’m looking at him I don’t understand him. And at a point it was like everything had ended nothing will work between them.

All of a sudden Peter started again, how things happened last last I don’t understand they began relationship, they never courted nothing they dint do anything the next thing Osinachi had agreed everything happened so fast they did all the marriage rites and got married.
