Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, the son of Evang. Mike Bamiloye of Mount Zion Faith Ministries has reacted to the online controversy of the appearance of LGBTQ (Lesb!an, G@y, Bis3xual, Transgender, Queer) pride flag spotted on ‘The Chosen’ movie set.

Few days ago, a video clip showing a small rainbow flag on the set of “The Chosen,” one of the most successful Christian-themed Hollywood properties ever, went viral last week, sparking a backlash on social media from some fans.

The first multi-season series to follow the Gospel narrative of the life and ministry of Jesus, “The Chosen,” has become an international phenomenon and is currently wrapping up production on its fourth season.

In response to the controversy, two of the show’s actors, Giavani Cairo and Jordan Walker Ross, weighed in on social media.

Cairo, who plays Thaddeus in the series, tweeted his response with a rainbow flag and heart emojis to a tweet from sports journalist Jon Root, who urged Christians to boycott “The Chosen” and argued that “promotion of the Pride Flag is never acceptable in church or any form of ministry.”

“Another one of the actors on The Chosen here. Anyone who is going to go at one of our family members for something like this, is no fan of ours,” Cairo wrote. “They can close the door on the way out ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ We stand with our brother.”

Ross, who plays Little James, another of the 12 disciples, voiced his support for Cairo, telling Root to “get outta here with your hate, homophobia and ignorance.”

However, Joshua Mike-Bamiloye who also reacted noted that the flag representing LGBTQ is not a good signal and also its appearance on a Christian movie location yet being defended by a cast is another tragedy.

He enjoined his followers to pray for those involved in the project as some wrong waves might be sent through the movie to the world.

In his words;

I just found out that there was a pride flag on the movie set of THE CHOSEN series and one of the actors took to Twitter to defend it. Sigh*

Pray for them, because this is really really not good. I know they hire their cast and crew indiscriminately but on a movie set that’s aimed at proclaiming the gospel, I believe there ought to be standards they upload regardless of who’s on with them. It is well…
