Congratulations pour in for filmmaker Oreofe Williams ‘Awo Jesu’ as he bags 2nd PhD, eyes 3rd (Photos)
Popular actor, Oreofe Williams on Monday, 19th of June, 2023 bagged another PhD, this time in ‘Film Studies and Media Communications’.
Dr Oreofe Williams who is largely known for his unique movie titles, involvement of secular actors in his movies and mentoring many youths, has by the new feat demonstrated that degrees are needed alongside anointing.
In series of posts made on his official Instagram page, the gospel actor noted that ‘Film Studies and Media Communication’, the area he bagged his new PhD is uniquely fresh in academic discourse.
He added that he is also considering a third PhD in a field within Political Science as he is gathering knowledge to explore various fields so as to dish out rich contents in any area he wishes to major his productions on.
In another post he made accompanied by a video clip that captured moments before his final presentation that lasted for three hours, Oreofe Williams enjoined filmmakers and song creators to consider backing up their efforts with certifications.

“YET ANOTHER ONE!!!
Today, I took another higher step in my academic pursuit as a Film Actor, Producer and Director by defending yet another brand new PhD, now in Film Studies and Media Communications, a uniquely fresh area in academic discourse. It was a thorough session that lasted for three hours before Professors.
By the way, as we drove out of the PG school, I had begun planning again to pursue further, now looking at an interesting area in Political Science. There is a current phenomenon on the pseudo-enactments of the SOCIAL MEDIA in MODERN POLITICS (especially as it affects the 2023 Presidential Elections in Nigeria) which I would like to study and I believe it is going to be useful to the FILM GENRE. I am not enrolling for these programmes to gather titles; I am interested in accessing knowledge so that the themes and messages you access in my films can be different.
Anyway, let’s savour this beautiful taste of yet another academic success which happened today first.
As the first to graduate on record time, a door is opened and may the same God who helped me, despite my very busy schedules, empower all my colleagues in Jesus name. I didn’t do this, God did!

Oreofe Williams was born in early 80’s,he is a descent of Ososa Ijebu,a town that produced the Doyen of theater Late Hubert Adedeji Ogunde.
He lost his parents when he was still young and stayed with his grandparents,his grandparents are the one that brought “Foursquare Gospel Church” to Ososa Ijebu, though,he was an instrumentalist, though he lost both of them but he continue with his life.
He is an actor, filmmaker, writer and a mentor. He has a a lot of mentee across Africa and Europe. He was starred in popular movie “Big Town” with Mercy Johnson and Zack Orji and host of others.
Oreofe Williams attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode where he founded the Drama group and later studied English and Performing arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU, Ago Iwoye and University of Ibadan for is PhD. He relieved Yemi Shodimu,when he was travelled to present a popular Nigerian TV show Gbarada for two years.
He is the first student that sitting state governor will come and watch his film,this was happening when former Ogun state governor visited OOU campus to watch one of his film.
As a young educated gospel actor, he has discipline and if you watch all his films you will see normal Nollywood actor and actress, unlike expecting him to starred “born again” Christian actors in his movies.
He is also a former lecturer, he was the young lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University but he left lecturer job to face his career.
He founded his own film and performing village in Ibadan and he called it THE CITY OF TALENTS and he is the president of OREOFE FILMS AND THEATER PRODUCTION, and also have his own YouTube channel LIVEFIRE.TV.
He has produced over 30 movies, his first movie that brings him to limelight is Awo Jesu, later he produced, Ak47, Shakabula, Demon on holiday, Divine seduction, Orisa Mimo, Angels taking bribes, Recession in heaven and so on.
