ONE YEAR IN MIND: gospelfilmsng remembers Late Mrs Folasade Aina (Iya Fadekemi of Abejoye Series)

Today, gospelfilmsng remembers a gospel drama minister, Mrs Folasade Aina who was called backstage on the 19th of October, 2022.

On the 21st of October, 2022, the news of her death took over the internet as many gospel drama ministers took to various platform to drop some touching tribute alongside some of her photos.

Before her demise, she played the role of Iya Fadekemi in the popular Abejoye series that was written by Evang. Mike Bamiloye of the Mount Zion Faith Ministries. She was also the creator of the popular “AKİYÈSÍ”, a Facebook transformational video series with more than 100 episode on that has blessed many.

As described by many who had one-on-one relationship with her when she was alive, it was said that she was an easy going, jovial and reliable person. She was selfless and will never say ‘no’ when duty calls.

A Facebook user identified as Bolalale Adefuye has also taken to her Facebook timeline around 2am to share a post in remembrance of Late Mrs Folasade Aina, she wrote;

PASTOR (MRS) FOLASADE AINA (Nee OLUNUGA).

To my unforgettable darling sister, somethings cannot be fixed, they can only be carried. You are fondly remembered for your sterling qualities.

May God help us to keep the flag of your desires flying. May perpetual light shine upon you, may your rest continue to be peaceful and may your legacies flourish.

My prayer is to see you again on the resurrection morning at the feet of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST”

Biography of Late Gospel Actor, Folasade Aina

Folasade was born to Chief Adekoya Olunuga in Ijebu Ode on August 9, 1967. Because of her exquisite birth, Chief (Mrs) Ebunola Olunuga, her mother, gave her the affectionate name Modupe.

Her official schooling began in 1973 at St David’s School in Kudeti, Ibadan, where she was known as “Sade fine fine” when she was young.

From 1979 until 1985, she studied at Adeola Odutola College in Ijebu Ode. At the Ogun State Polytechnic in Abeokuta (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic), Sade studied mass communication.

The Lagos State University awarded her a postgraduate degree. She was a well-rounded student who performed well in both social and academic endeavors. From 1996 to 1997, she completed her National Youth Service at the N.N.P.C. in Lagos.

Following that, she worked for a time as a businessperson at the Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC, Apapa.

In 2009, Mrs. Folasade Aina began working for the Lagos State Judiciary, where she remained until her death.

At Adeola Odutola College in Ijebu Ode, Sister Sade, as she is affectionately known by her friends, first met the love of her life.

However, her relationship with Bro. Olugbenga Aina, a man she fondly referred to as “a man of peace”, started when they met again at the Christian Fellowship of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

On June 1st, 1996, the two lovers were united in marriage at St. David’s Church in Kudeti, Ibadan. The union is blessed with three sons and a daughter.

Prior to the husband receiving the Lord’s Call and becoming the set man over The Reconciliation and Restoration Chapel with the wife beside him, Pastor & Mrs. Aina were members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.Pastor (Mrs) Aina found her passion in the drama ministry.

She attended the Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama in 2005. She has performed in several evangelical movies and stage dramas.

Sade was an active member of the All Nigeria Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers (ANCEDRAM) and one of the elders of the Lagos State Chapter.

Folasade was a role model to many who crossed her path. She was simple and forthright. She loved God! She transited to glory on Wednesday, 19th October 2022. May her gentle soul continue to Rest In Peace. Amen!
