‘God will close the door of untimely death in our industry and home’ – Odunlade Adekola begs God over Nollywood death plague

Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola has begged God over the death plaguing the Nigerian movie industry as another Nollywood artiste lost her life yesterday.

It was gathered that there was mourning in Nollywood again as another female actor Wunmi Olowokandi died yesterday night. The cause of her death is yet to be made public.

Mourning the death of the deceased, Odunlade Adekola praised the mightiness of God and prayed that God would close the door of untimely death in the Nollywood industry.

“Unquestionable you are the LORD. I PRAY GOD WILL CLOSE THE DOOR OF UNTIMELY DEATH IN OUR INDUSTRY AND IN THE HOUSE OF EVERY ONE OF US. IN JESUS NAME.”

Recalls the heartwrenching moment Murphy Afolabi’s death was announced on social media. The actor, aged 49, lost his life on Sunday, the 14th of May, 2023, after he reportedly slipped on bathroom tiles and hit his head on a hard surface.

Nollywood stars declared Sunday as a Black day because the movie industry lost two actors. Many took to their timelines to share dark images to mourn the death of Murphy Afolabi.

Actor Murphy Afolabi’sdeath came as a shock to many as the actor recently marked his 49th birthday on the 5th of May. Reports by Seun Oloketuyi claimed the actor lost his life after slipping on bathroom tiles.

Nollywood artistes, including Adeniyi Johnson, Papa Show, Biola Bayo, Damola Olatunjji, Sam Olatunji, Yinka Solomon, Mercy Aigbe, Kemi Korede and a host of others mourned their colleagues’ death on social media.

Recall that Odunlade Adekola proudly celebrated his father, Pastor N. A Adekola, who retired from service as a minister of God.

Odunlade Adekola shared videos from the retirement service held for his father at Christ Apostolic Church in Abeokuta Ogun state.

The multiple award-winning actor was grateful to God for his father’s achievement. He accompanied his appreciation with a prayerful message to the young ones.
