Joshua Mike-BAMILOYE narrates experience while working on “JOYRIDE”
Just like yesterday when this new comic book was announced to be anticipated for, the title was anonymous and many were looking forward to have a glimpse of what the book tagged to be the “NIGERIA’S BIGGEST CHRISTIAN COMIC BOOK” entails. To God be the glory, the book was officially launched at the June edition of the drama ministers’ power night. The book titled “JOYRIDE” unveiled by Evang. Mike BAMILOYE is a short story of the near death experience of a happy-go-lucky teenager after a fun ride that turned sour. A book whose resultant effect will rock you to the core of your being and make you reconsider what’s timely important in life.
However Joshua Mike BAMILOYE, who did the illustration of this book after the story had been written by Toluwaloni Babarinde took to the platform to narrate what he experienced, serious enough to discourage the success of this book. He also encouraged followers on social media never to allow setbacks pave way for for discouragement to creep in.

Glory to God for the success of the June edition of the Drama Ministers, Power Night, And THE OFFICIAL LAUNCHING OF THE COMIC BOOK. It’s been a intense journey of ups and downs. In it all I’m glad I passed though it. I’m not a fan of long captions but I promised God I was going to do this.
Here’s my major testimony story in all of this:
The comic book release was targeted at December of 2018, but due to its complexity and the other movie projects, I was just on page 21 out of 30 pages. I suspended my Jay and Josh series Just so I could focus on completing the pages. In January I was focused on reaching the end to be released by February. By February 1, I was on page 29 when something happened.
That afternoon, at the balcony, I was taking the pictures to be drawn for the last 2 pages when My laptop that was used to check the story board accidentally dropped. It was still working when I picked it up but it went blank a few minutes later. Tried to restart it, nothing. Apparently the internal hard drive was damaged and strangely that was when i realized i hadn’t backed up the last 8 pages that took me December and January to draw. For weeks We used different softwares to try and extract the images. I was depressed. I couldn’t imagine drawing them again, not to mention that I first had to take the pictures of the characters in those pages all over. I also could give up because I had come too far. Eventually we got out 4 and a half pages before the hard drive gave up. After the production of the movie SHACKLES was over, God gave me the grace to face the remaining pages and the lost pages.
I learnt a lot during that crises period, things that I might never have known if it all had gone according to how I wanted.
This is an encouragement for whoever is having a major setback in any task, work or project. Giving up is not an option, things might not go according to plan, but never forget that “ALL THINGS work together for good to them that love God and are called” Rom 8:28. He makes all things beautiful in. His time.
