I LOVE YOU, BUT…. (Part 45&46) – OPEYEMI AKINTUNDE

Part 45
I LOVE YOU, BUT….
Opeyemi Akintunde

Yewande heard her father had gone out for the night and was going to return in the morning. She really wanted to help Beauty, but there was no way she would help Beauty out, without everyone in the compound seeing her. All the wives were seated in front of their rooms.

“I can’t …I am sorry Aunty Beauty, but I can go speak to him on your behalf. What would you want me to say him”

“Just tell him I am the captive that needs to be free. Tell him I gave my life to Christ the first night he preached about God making Captivity Captive, tell him I have been following his everyday preaching both morning and night, but tell him I am still waiting for God to bring me out of this pit. You can tell him all I told you about how I got here and how my friend is my betrayer.” Beauty said.

Beauty suddenly stopped hearing his voice… It was unlike him. His message was quite short.

“ Yewande, are you sure he is not leaving?’

“Let me be on my way..” Yewande said as she rushed out.

Beauty was shaking, she had to speak to the man.

“Yewande! Where to?”

Beauty Froze on hearing Chigozie challenging Yewande.

“God! Please, I need to get out of this Captivity.”

“I want to see one of my teachers outside”

There was a long pause, that took forever to end.

“Ok, make it snappy.”

Beauty exhaled.

Lara walked into the room. She had been in the kitchen all day as it was her turn to cook for the entire family.

“Are you okay?” Lara asked

“Yes Are you alone?’

“Yes!”

“Yewande knows the Preacher!”

“Which Preacher?”

“The one we listen to his preaching ”

“Really?”

Timothy was very exhausted. He knew he had given a very short message… He was on the move back home.

“Uncle Timothy!” he heard someone calling. On turning, he realized it is one of the students from the school he was committed to. He was an advocate of s€xual purity. He made out time to go to different schools on a monthly basis to minister to them

“Hey!” Timothy said.“How are you? I saw you the other day… You stay around here?” Timothy asked as he couldn’t remember her name.

“Yes sir, it’s been a while you came to our school” Yewande said as she looked around in fear.

Timothy noticed her uneasiness…

“Are you okay? Is there something you would like to discuss with me?” Timothy suspected she wanted to discuss an issue with him.

“Yes…”

“Ok?”

“It’s about an aunt living with us.” Yewande Narrated all she could…

Timothy was so perplexed by the reality of what the young girl said to him…

“Where is she?”

“She is inside and there is no way she can get out. My father is not around but she dare not step out of the gate. We heard one of the women that tried to escape was struck by lightning.”

“Hmm, tell her that God will surely bring her out. Tell her the same God who brought Peter out of prison will bring her out. Tell her,I will be praying for her… Does she have a Bible? Tell her to read Acts 12: 5-17” Timothy said.

“No, The Bible is an abomination in my house, besides remember she is blind , she can’t read…”

“Yes! Then let me read it to you and you will preach to her…”

“Me? preach?”

“Yes! God can use you or better still, I will preach a second time this evening. Be on your way and tell her that I will be speaking to her through my message.” Timothy said. He was bubbling with Joy.

As Yewande was about to leave, Timothy called her back…

“Your name?”

“Yewande”

“God bless you for this.“

“You are welcome sir, but please can you pray to God for me, that when God decides to punish my father for the evil he has been doing, that my mother, my brother and I will be saved and we will be free from this prison like Aunty Beauty.”

“Yes! There is the story of a prostitute in the Bible who helped the Israelites when they came to spy their land. She also asked for her safety and that of her family. She was exempted from the destruction of the land. I believe you do not like the wickedness of your father’s house and for that be sure that you will not be punished alongside your father.”

“Thank you sir! Let me be on my way.” Yewande said.

“God bless you!”

Timothy waved at her. Timothy couldn’t contain his joy. Though the lady was still in Captivity, he was filled with Joy knowing God was going to bring out the Lady in the most miraculous way.

This was the big fish, his fiancee told him he had caught.

Timothy jumped up in excitement.

“Thank you Lord!” He said laughing so hard…

Timothy placed a call to Mathew.

Mathew was surprised on seeing his call. He knew it had to be important. He stepped aside from his colleagues. He was 6 hours behind Nigeria time.

“Yes, Bro Timothy. Good Afternoon…”

“I have met the big fish, I have met the woman in Captivity.” Timothy said in a hurry.

“Slow down brother! I don’t understand you brother.”

Timothy explained all that Yewande had explained to him.

“Wow! You mean she is in a Witchdoctor’s place?” Mathew asked. Ever since he became friends with Timothy, he had been watching a lot of Nigerian movies to know the culture of the Nigerian people. He developed so much interest in Nigeria.. He, therefore, knew how scary Nigerian herbalists or witchdoctors looked in the movies..

“You should report to the police, since she is there against her will”

“It doesn’t work that way around here, you will be surprised that the police we are going to report to are friends to the man. They would call him to inform him before they arrive, what I should have done which I didn’t think of doing of was to ask that young girl to get the phone number of a relative we could contact..” Timothy replied.

“Yes! That’s true… that would work…”

“But much more than the physical moves we should make, I called you to inform you about the new development and ask that you join in interceding for her. If the heavens over Nigeria is blocked over her, if she has an intercessor in Columbia , it could make a difference… The girl told me her name is Beauty…

“Beauty, nice. God will give her Beauty for her Ashes”

“ Amen! So let’s do what’s in Acts 12:5-17 “

Obinna and Freeman were still deep in prayers. They ought to have stopped to rest for the 9pm session but they were soaked in the Presence of God….

“ Acts 12 from verse 5 reads

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.” Obinna Read

“ Right now Pamilerin is in the prison house of that Winter Lady and we are following the example of scripture to pray her out…” Obinna said charging Freeman up.

“ Hmmm…” Freeman said .

“Verse 6 continues… And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.

Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”

So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.

When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Obinna read the verses with the intention to boast his friends faith…

“Hmm… I believe God can release Pamilerin out of that prison, the satanic emotional prison Winter has locked her in”

“ Yes, we don’t just talk it, we pray it… Now, let us pray and ask the Lord to send his angel to where Pamilerin is and bring her out. Let’s pray that her senses be restored back to her immediately in Jesus name “

Simultaneously as Dearest Mom sat on her bed awaiting the pastors arrival, The HolySpirit laid that Scripture in her heart as well…

“ Acts 12:5-17” Dearest Mom heard in her Spirit.

She got her Bible and read through but the part that struck her most was…

“And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.”

It struck her that she was doing exactly what the intercessors did for Peter when he was in Prison.

Mary was not Peter’s Mother, but yet they had all gathered there to pray for him.

The same way she had called on some pastors to gather in her house that night to intercede for Pamilerin.

“Thank you Holy Spirit, for always leading me. I believe Pamilerin will be free from the Prison of that strange lady in Jesus name.”
