Leke Adeboye, the son of the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye has sent a note of warning to artists who try to make painting of his pictures to either create an original one leave the original pictures taken at the studio untouched. In his post, he said he wasn’t looking good in the painting he received.
Sharing the pictures he got from the artists, he captioned; “The issue I have with people painting, a picture you already have that is so well taken in a studio is, I ask myself what is the point. I already have a perfectly taken nice picrure if the same thing you decided to draw. Yes it’s nice to draw but can we do an original not a copy of an original. Some of the copy self will now make you looks like you are eating mango or something is wrong with your ears or eyes. Please just leave the original picture alone. I AM NOT Impressed with copy drawings. God bless you as you do so”
However, Nigerians have taken to his comment section to react to his comments over the painting of him and his dad stating that he was not constructive with his criticism which should be preceded by an appreciation. SEE PICTURES AND REACTIONS BELOW;

latifachuks: How will the artist feel when he reads this? Sometimes, we should think about pple’s feeling when giving our opinions. A constructive criticism would have been better or better still tell him or her u need an original drawing next time.
dejieniola: I love the fact that you are you and you express your thoughts on matters succinctly without bias or fear. A no of people today colour their opinions because of modern societal pressures which comes under the umbrella of “not being inclusive” or being tagged “anti-progressive/modern” . I m taking a cue from you to be more of myself , express myself in no condemning way to anyone but listening to my thoughts and leaning on them if that’s where peace is even though they are not popular opinions .
fashakinmichael: Well…. Pastor L.A. I agree with your submission that an original picture should be left alone and not copied. However, we may need to know who did the painting, his/her age, level of exposure, aim for the painting, the time available for the production of the painting. It is also obvious that the artist may not be able to freeze your movement for him/her to make a drawing of you; considering your tight schedule and that of mimis’ mama. On behalf of the artst, I would like to apologise for the unfair rendering. But I appreciate the fact that you have also given it a thought to share on this platform

sarahloveshope: I feel so embarrassed and sad for the artist. Wow! This is not constructive criticism. This is very disrespectful. Even if you don’t like it, which I can understand because everyone’s tastes are different. The best you could have done is to simply follow the word of God that teaches us to be kind to one another and also for our speech to be with grace and seasoned with salt. All you could have said was “I want to say a big thank you to the artist that painted this picture. Thanks for your time and effort, I appreciate your talent however I would have loved for you to draw me live as I prefer that to a copy of an original picture of me. I hope we get the chance to do so in the future. All the best 👍🏾 “ This would have been a better approach than to put a knife to someone’s way of expressing their love to the Adeboyes.
ezinneoma: I think it would have been better to start off with some form of appreciation for the efforts, thoughtfulness and all the works, thereafter, your sincere thoughts which is also good by the way, especially in this era of political correctness.
taiwosoyombo: I think I will applaud 👏 whoever that has done this artwork, but there is room for improvement, you can do better and add value. God bless the hand and help the artist to improve next time
