Just a few hours after Carter Efe, the head of the record label, played the song “Oyinmo” by himself, Young Duu, a rising artist, protests against music theft.
According to a previous story, Carter Efe performed the newly released song at a gig, eliciting comments from both fans and internet users. The song was released by both himself and Portable’s former signee.
Young Duu bemoaned being left out of the equation and showed frustration in response to the show performance.
Speaking about how he was dumped and fired by his previous employer, Portable, he charged Carter Efe of being a swindler and exploiting his predicament.
“I’m the one who owned the song, I’ve been ripped; Someone else has taken over my song! Carter used industry brain to collect my song, going to show with my song. He is a comedian, not a singer. He doesn’t want to help me but always takes credit for those pulling the strings.
“I don’t want to expose everything. It’s not good; my boss did me bad and you want to do the same thing. You guys have family, the same way I came from someone else. So this was why you wanted me to drop an album for you,” he said in part.
