Elvon Jarrett was born in the city of Ibadan over 5 decades ago to the family of Mr & Mrs E S Jarrett. He started his primary education at the staff school University of Ibadan, furthered his education at the popular Government College Ibadan. (G.C.I). He later went to the University of Ibadan in 1985 where he studied Anthropology as his First degree with a subsidiary bias in Theatre Arts. Daddy Elvon Jarrett obtained Masters Degree in Communication Arts from the same University.His interest in the Arts dates back to his secondary school days at the Government College where he was part of the drama club, this interest was further ignited at the University of Ibadan where he took courses in theatre arts and joined several performing groups; ODU Themes, Unibadan performing Company and later co-founded the Laffomania organization.
His advent into the Gospel Drama ministry began when he accepted Christ to his life in 1988. He then realized that God has a purpose for his life and the need to use his talents and gifts for the Kingdom of God. He joined the Scripture Pasture Christian Centre Drama Group, a group which he has been heading consistently for over 12years. During that period the name of the group was christened “The Living Sermon Drama Group” because of the kind of messages portrayed through drama by the group especially at the annual Scripture Pasture Christian Centre conventions.He has been distinctly involved with Gospel Christian Drama Film Productions of various Christian Drama ministries. One of such is the Mount Zion film productions and several other. Elvon has been actively involved in the films of the Mount Zion productions for well over seventeen years. He has been constantly featuring in film productions as actor and Director, a role which he still plays by the Grace of God up till now. Some of the films he has featured in include; the multi- award winning Enemy of my soul, The God’s are dead, The Story of my life, Blood covenant, the much talked about ‘Blood on the altar’, Forgotten ones, The Wounded hearts, Captives of the mighty, Youthful lusts, Foundations and the Storms of life, hell razer, Silent Cry, While wind, House on Fire to mention a few.
He has also been involved in other films and T. V. programmes like; Haunted Church, The Mandate, Free but costly, The fall of a thousand, Kilababo, The Reformer, Eni ran ni nise, e.t.c. Elvon has also produced and directed ‘Strongholds’ a film which blazed a trail on youth evangelism in schools, a passion which he deeply has. He also worked on the project ‘The Centurion’ a film about re positioning the face of the Nigerian Police Force spiritually to face the job ahead of them and enlightening members of the public on ways to treat the police.
Elvon Jarrett is creative and versatile in high standard and quality documentaries and has been involved in the production of the several documentaries for training and enlightenment in Banking and medical services. Elvon was the producer of the first HIV /AIDs programme sponsored by USAID/SHF, the first movie dedicated to deaf and dumb in sign language.
He enjoys working with children, youths and teenagers from different backgrounds and organizes an annual Children’s/Teens Summer Film Academy every summer breaks.ELVON is a versatile and experienced Event Manager and Master of Ceremony (MC) for both public and private organizations Elvon is happily married to Olatokunbo and the marriage was blessed with Bankoleoluwa, Emmanuel, Esther and Ruth.
