The President of EVOM (Evangelical Vineyard Outreach Ministries) WORLD NETWORK, Evang. Shola Mike Agboola has raised a topic on being one’s “brother’s keeper”. Taking to social media, the filmmaker has come to a conclusion that, ‘believers’ are one of the most vicious antagonists of their fellow believers.

According to Evang. Shola Mike Agboola, Christians have neglected the part of praying for fellow believers that backslide, rather they derive joy in discussing loudly and firing ferocious arrows at already wounded believer. He recounted how the fall of other believers used to be a serious concern that needed urgent intercession in the place of prayers. He therefore advised that the true meaning of ‘brother’s keeper’ should be revived by praying for such believer rather than joining the unbelievers to mock.

Check through social media platforms. When a Believer, especially a servant of God, falls into an error, it is fellow Believers who make the loudest noise about it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. They trample upon the fallen and further tear the fragile shreds left of his garment of honour. They discuss the fall of fellow Believers with vigour and relish. It looks like they derive joy in the fall of others.

Check it. Non-Christians hardly contribute to posts where a Christian, or Christianity, is being maligned. It is always Believers who fire ferocious arrows at fellow Believers. This is acting out the script written by the devil himself. Haba! We should know better than this.

I always wonder. Do we still pray for one another? If you fast and pray for your weak brother/sister, in your closet, why do you still troll him/her in the open? Certainly, something is not right here.

I still recollect my early days as a Believer. Then, the fall of a Believer was a serious concern to other Believers. It was an automatic prayer point for other Believers. We prayed with tears until the backslidden was restored. This is what the Bible means by “bear ye one another’s burdens.” Come to think of it, we are supposed to be our brother’s KEEPER not our brother’s KILLER. May God help end-time Believers. Shalom!
