“Decent Assistants”

“Go undercover in a brothel?” No Lord!, I can’t handle that, Go to a polluted environment, what will happen to my spiritual life? God are you sending me as a spy to a brothel? Is that even biblical? I reject this negative voice disguising as the voice of my father.”

“𝐘𝐞𝐬! 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞? 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟐 𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐚𝐧” “Spies” Favour replied calmly

“𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞. 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥. “Ha! God, can I do this?” Favour didn’t like this one bit.
There was no answer any more
“Daddy, you are not answering me” Favour called out.

“Ok Sir, even if I am to do this, how do I go in as a Spy?”
The voice was still very quiet. Aunty Favour fell to her chair throwing tantrums. *****

Femi went ahead of his sister to a smaller room, he opened the wardrobe and shun his torch to a world of pictures. Kemi saw Jaiyeola’s pictures, her husband, Rejoice and Anthony, She saw pictures of different clients driving into the D.A compound.

“Femi, how did you get this?” Kemi asked in Fear
“I have been following Anthony, going to all the parties he has been attending, infact we are friends”
“Femi, if you are caught, you will be killed. I don’t like this “

“Kemi,I need to get you out of there”
“ How?”
“I am gathering a lot of evidence I will use to blackmail them. I have pictures of over 12 girls whose parents have declared missing that I know are in the D.A”

Femi brought out some pictures which he placed in Kemi’s hands
“This girl right here is hot cake, her parents are filthily rich, with this girl’s parents we can gain our freedom, get some money from them and we all japa ( relocate).” he said referring to Cherry Cupcake

Kemi checked through the other pictures and Femi really had done his home work, everyone of those girls were living in the D.A. H.

“Femi, Mrs Jaiyeola is not a good woman, she doesn’t have human feelings, if she finds this, she will wipe out our entire family “
“Kemi, all I need is someone on the inside who can help me gather more evidence to pull this woman’s empire down?”

“No! I cannot be a spy.. God forbid, she will find me out in no time “ Kemi declined immediately
Kemi’s phone rang. Fear gripped her heart, she thought it was Mrs Jaiyeola but the ID caller showed

“Aunty Favour Rejoice’ School “ she was relieved it was not Mrs Jaiyeola
“One minute” She say to Femi

“Hello ma, Good evening”
“Good evening, I wanted to know if you are home already with your Family” Aunty Favour said
“Yes ma, thank you so much, although I am faced with another problem” Kemi said

“Why?” Femi mouths questioning her as to why she wanted to run her mouth. Kemi signaled to him to be calm.
“What problem are you faced with?” Aunty Favour asked
“My brother…..”

Kemi explained all that her brother had been up to.
“I will be the spy, Get me in. No one there knows me as the director of the Lighthouse, you are the only one who knows me. I have God’s backing to go in there, I don’t know what He wants me to do there, but I am ready to go”

“Ha!”
“Come over to the school in the morning and let’s talk about it” Aunty Favour said *****

Nurse Kemi, Aunty Favour and Femi sat in the office brainstorming.
“The only person that goes and comes in every day is Mama Tunrayo the cleaner” Nurse Kemi said.
“Let’s kidnap her, so there will be a vacancy” Femi suggested

“That’s too extreme” Aunty Favour said
Nurse Kemi’s phone rang she checked the caller ID, it was Mrs Jaiyeola calling.
Aunty Favour encouraged her to pick up…

“Hello ma”
“Hello Kemi, Good morning; How are you doing?”
“Fine thank you”

“Where are you?”
“Em…em…” Nurse Kemi stuttered but Aunty Favour encouraged her to speak the truth.
“I am in Rejoice’s school, I came to check on her again”

“Oh! That’s very thoughtful of you”
“Thank you ma, would you like to speak with her”
“No! I believe she is fine now”

“Yes she is”
“ Alright see you tomorrow” ******

Mrs Jaiyeola ended the call and faced Trust
“She can be trusted, she is exactly where the tracker says she is”.
Husky walked in …

“Ma, we have a problem “ Husky said
“What?”
“Mama Tunrayo is very ill and Nurse Kemi is not around”

“Take her to the hospital, we need to even change mama Tunrayo, she is getting too old for the Job. We need a new cleaner”.

“Hello ma”

“Kemi, Mama Tunrayo is sick, she has been rushed to the hospital. While you are at your parent’s place, Can you help find a new cleaner that can keep quiet?”

“Ok ma!” she said
Mrs Jaiyeola hung up and Nurse Kemi sat with her mouth wide open
“What is wrong?”

“Is this how your God works ma?” Kemi asked
“My God works in mysterious ways, can you tell me what is happening?”
“The D.A.H needs a new cleaner and she wants me to find one”

“Halleluyah!” Aunty Favour said. *****

“Do you have any work experience in cleaning?”. Mrs Jaiyeola asked Aunty Favour
“Yes ma, me don dey clean for over eight years” Aunty Favour said and within herself she said “I have been cleaning lives for over eight years”

“Has Kemi told you what we do here?”
“Yes ma, she tell me everything and me I promise you, I go keep my mouth close”
” Kemi told me you said you prefer to be a live-in cleaner so as to safe transport fare cost?”

” Yes, Madam…To enter Moto this days is not for the poor”
“Ok… but let me sound this warning, If anything gets exposed from your end, we will wipe out your entire family”

“God forbid… That one no go happen”
“Alright follow Trust, he will show you around” Mrs Jaiyeola said bending her head Trust.
“Thank you ma” Aunty Favour said

Aunty Favour was on her way out but stopped and turned
“Madam..” Aunty Favour said
“Yes?”

“We never talk how much you go pay me?” Aunty Favour asked
“Money is not a problem, work well and you will smile back home at the end of the month” Mrs Jaiyeola replied

“Ha! Thank you…. God go bless you ma. God go bless Kemi for this good thing she do me” Aunty Favour said as she tried to solidify her cover.

“Let’s go” Trust said to her…
Trust took Aunty Favour round the premises showing her where to sweep and clean. Aunty Favour was more concerned about getting to where the girls were….

“This is the client’s lobby, this where they stay to make the order of the kind of girl they want…. Captain, this is the new cleaner” Trust said to a man who was lying down on one of the sofa

“Ok, make she do quick, make she come clean this place, Today is Sunday and it’s almost three o’clock “ Captain said
“She will come back” Trust assured him. He asked Aunty Favour to follow him. *****

“We have Fifty girls in the house as at now. Five hostels, you have to clean their room everyday” Trust said as he knocked at one of the hostel rooms
“It’s Trust can I come in?” He said

“Yes…” One of the girls replied
Trust opened the door and Aunty Favour was opened to the world of ten young girls, it was Cherrycupcake’s room.
“Good Afternoon ladies, mama Tunrayo is very ill at the moment, so we have a new cleaner. Her name is Mama John”

“Una well done “ Aunty Favour said.
Cherry Cupcake who had been lying down with her face to the wall, heard the familiar voice. She knew that voice anywhere.

That was the voice of Aunty Favour from the Lighthouse camp she used to attend during the holidays before she became a captive two years ago.

She turned her head gently to get a good look at her…
She was the one!
“What is she doing here?” Cherrycupcake asked herself

“Aunty Favour?” Cherrycupcake called
Aunty Favour froze, she turned to see who called her. She recognized the face!
” Imade!” Aunty Favour’s world came crashing as she recognised her.

Trust looked at Aunty Favour with a raise eyebrow.
