One of the common mistakes some parents make is forcefully fixing their children into their own field because of their self interest, continuity in the field or fulfillment of their heart desires which they were not opportune to achieve.
Some parents will never resist treating their child(ren) as an extension of themselves, instead of them to discover the child’s strengths and passions, instead of them to encourage and pray for such child, they care less, all they care about is “SECURING A BETTER FUTURE” for them even when the choice they make for them is out of God’s plan. As good as this “SECURING THIS BETTER FUTURE” is, let’s not forget the place of PURPOSE.
Know that you are accountable for everything over them.
On this: I strongly advise all going into ministerial assignment to have something substantial (academic qualification) before launching into that which God has called you into. We have pastors and bishops that are professors in their field of study. God bless.
