The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye is all joyful as he celebrates another milestone. The popular pastor took to his official social media pages some minutes ago to celebrate his new age, ‘Eighty’ with a photo and a caption appreciating God for the gift of Life.
Biography Of Pastor E.A Adeboye
Enoch Adejare Adeboye was born on 2 March 1942 in Ifewara, close to Ife, in Osun State, Nigeria. He went to the University Of Nigeria (UNN) in Nsukka but since the Nigeria Civil War, he finished his first degree in the University of Ife (presently Obafemi Awolowo University) graduating with a degree in Mathematics in 1967. That very year, he wedded Foluke Adenike. They have four children in particular: Adeolu Adeboye, Bolu Adubi (née Adeboye), Leke Adeboye and Dare Adeboye.
In 1969, he got a graduate degree in hydrodynamics from the University of Lagos. He joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973 and started interpreting Yoruba to English for Pastor Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi. In 1975, he got a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos. He holds a degree and title as Professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos.
He was appointed a minister of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1977. He became General Overseer of the congregation in 1981. For a very long time, he occupied the job at Unilorin prior to surrendering his teaching job to lecture full-time.
